There is a growing demand for strategic separations in energy-related research, process intensification greenhouse gases reduction and water re-use. The development of membrane and adsorption technologies is currently playing a key role in this matter since these processes are often more environmentally sustainable and cost-effective than other separation technologies. As new materials are developed, innovative screening strategies are required to lead these raw materials into new products able to serve within separation technologies.
